Monitoring Journalist – with Somali Specialism
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidates will have excellent knowledge of international, regional and Somali affairs especially in relation to Africa and Somali issues in particular. They will have an excellent command of English and Somali, both written and spoken, with proven experience of translating from Somali to English. They will have knowledge of regional online and broadcast media and will be able to give timely in-depth analyses. They will have strong technical and computer skills, including an ability to develop multimedia production skills. The ability to handle social media is a must. Journalistic experience will be an advantage. A working knowledge of any other languages used in the region is desirable.
They will also need to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, as part of a team, and a willingness to work shifts, including early or late in the day and weekends.
